Fall Color Assignment Winner Michael Warwick

Congratulations to Michael Warwick for winning the recent Fall Color Assignment with the image, “Fall Splendor.”

“This photo was taken at the Portland, Oregon, Japanese Garden at the end of October 2017,” says Warwick. “The garden encompasses 5.5 acres of tranquil beauty and is touted as the most authentic Japanese Garden outside of Japan. I timed my visit on an overcast, slightly cloudy day to eliminate glare and bright spots and to have that natural greenhouse-like lighting. I was using a Mefoto tripod set up very low to the ground, and I actually took two photos of different focusing points and stacked them in Photoshop to provide greater sharpness and depth of field.”

Sony a6300, Zeiss 16-70mm lens. Exposure: 1/15 sec., f/6.3, ISO 100, -0.7 exposure compensation.
