A Georgia hunter killed a public land turkey using his daughter’s pink bike as his method of transportation.

Randy Massie killed a north Georgia gobbler on public land, covering lots of ground and searching out the big bird with skill and swiftness. But he didn’t exactly do it the way most turkey hunters would think.

Since the forest roads were closed to motorized vehicles, Massie decided to grab his daughter’s Barbie bike and take it out on the turkey hunting trail.

On the morning of April 8, Massie road the Barbie bike 2.9 miles into Dawson Forest WMA. Shortly after daylight, Massie harvested a gobbler. In fact, he recorded his ride with the gobbler back down the mountain.

Man kills Dawson Forest WMA gobbler using his daughter's pink Barbie bicycle. Randy Massie swapped his Man Card for his 6-year-old daughter's bike on April 8 and rode 2.9 miles into the WMA. Less than five minutes after fly down, he snatched his Man Card back and took a strutter for a ride down the mountain.

Spring turkey hunting in the mountains is fun but can be rough on our cardiovascular system. Sometimes hunters have to use whatever is at their disposal.

With most forest roads closed during turkey season, it provides a lot of room to roam and hunt without bumping into too many people. You’ve got to find those hidden wild turkeys somehow!

However, those roads are sometimes several miles long. Massie took the smart route through the turkey woods and it paid off with a nice public land gobbler. If he’d had a basket on the front, it could have held his turkey calls!

I wonder if this would work for deer hunting in other American mountain regions…?
