Twilight Landscapes Assignment Winner Tom Elenbaas

Congratulations to Tom Elenbaas for winning the recent Twilight Landscapes Assignment with the image, “Glacier Point Moonrise.”

The view from Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park is breathtaking any time of day, but at sunset and in the blue hour it’s unsurpassed,” says Elenbaas. “The main vantage point looks to the north toward Yosemite Valley and Yosemite Falls, but the view to the east overlooks Little Yosemite Valley. Framed by Half Dome on the left and Mt. Starr King on the right, the Merced River can be seen winding its way to Vernal Falls while a little farther upriver Liberty Cap watches over Nevada Falls. This shot was taken a few years back on a May evening as the full moon rose over Mt. Starr King.”

Canon EOS 6D, Canon 17-40mm f/4 L USM @ 22mm, 0.6 sec, ƒ/11, ISO 100.
