Check out the latest whitetail apparel from First Lite, the newest line to roll out in the Specter camo pattern.
First Lite, the leading hunting apparel brand owned by MeatEater, Inc., has officially launched the latest elements to their whitetail outerwear line, highlighted by their new Specter camo pattern.
The Catalyst, Solitude, and Sanctuary 2.0 systems are at the forefront of the new apparel, all of which are built with the hardworking, dedicated whitetail hunter firmly in mind.
Here’s a rundown of the new gear, with prices and features included.
First Lite Whitetail Catalyst Jacket and Bib Pant
The two-layer, silent softshell Catalyst Jacket and Bib Pants (both priced at $260) are great for early and mid-season conditions with their durable, breathable, and water-resistant features. The Jacket uses treestand-specific pocketing, a harness pass-through access point, and a removable 3D Turret hood. The Bib Pant includes full-length leg zippers and an adjustable waistband.
The Catalyst system uses First Lite’s exclusive 37.5 fabric, which employs Active Carbon Technology to neutralize body perspiration. The Jacket and Bib Pant also work well together thanks to the seamless KitLink compatibility system, which matches zippered pass-throughs on the Jacket with the chest muff and pocket on the Bibs.
First Lite Solitude Insulated Jacket, Vest, and Bib Pant
Built for mid-season deer hunting, the Solitude system includes 100g insulation in the main body area, and 60g insulation in the sleeves, hood, and entire Bib Pant. A removable hood, treestand harness pass-through, insulated hand pockets with seal-tight gaskets, and a “Shooter’s Sleeve” for gun or bowhunting compatibility round out the Solitude Jacket’s features, and it runs for $300.
As for the Bib Pant ($270), their double cargo pockets (both drop-in and zippered) and stash pocket with two interior gear loops provide plenty of storage. There’s a reinforced, 2.5-layer water-resistant seat panel at work, keeping you warm and dry no matter where you sit down, and the full-length zippered sides make for easy on-and-off.
The Solitude Vest ($210)
First Lite Sanctuary 2.0 Insulated Jacket, Bib Pant, and Hand Muff
The Sanctuary kit might be the most technologically advanced of the bunch, with the Jacket’s ($375) windproof membrane and 200g body insulation (with 160g insulation in the sleeves and hood). The moisture-resistant DWR exterior repels snow and rain, and it’s touted as “dead silent” even in sub-freezing temps. The Shooter’s Cut allows for ease of movement and the same treestand-friendly features (harness pass-through and strategic pockets) mentioned previously make it a great whitetail option.
The Bib Pants ($375) are made for cold weather, and include 200g of 37.5 synthetic insulation throughout, but a warmer 300g in the seat. Quick-release suspenders and full-zip sides allow for easy on-and-off. The Hand Muff ($60) rounds it all out, with Berber fleece interior construction and a zipper pocket for stashing essentials.
Also included in the new gear release from First Lite is their latest iteration of the Obsidian Foundry Pant, the ripstop merino wool bottoms that have versatility written all over them. At $195, they’re the quiet, odor-resistant, durable hunting pant that so many outdoorsmen have clamored for. Built-in stretch and an articulated fit aid the impressive range of motion, and their upland and fishing applications increase the uses for what’s likely to become your go-to outdoor pants.
