Do you know these men?
The Oregon State Police are now looking for information on two men caught on trail camera trespassing on private property September 16 in Morrow County.
A post on the Oregon State Police’s Facebook page says the two suspects were contacted and told the Heppner Unit area was private property.
But after the trail camera photo was taken, three elk were subsequently found poached between September 16 and 23.
What’s worse is that whoever did it left most of the meat behind to rot. Officials suspect the men in the photo may have been involved, along with a third suspect not photographed.
OSP says the group was off Forest Service Road 21 near Martin Prairie.
Anyone with any information on the men in the photo can contact the Oregon State Police Turn-In-Poachers line at 1-800-452-7888. Tips can also be emailed to TIP@state.or.us.
The Facebook post also states anyone with information can contact OSP Sr. Trooper Michael Mayer. His number is 541-561-7581.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first case of elk poaching this year in Oregon. An 8×6 trophy bull was illegally arrowed in an area closed due to fire dangers last month.
