Spring bear season is upon us.
Several hunters enjoy shoulder mounts, while others prefer rugs. However, whatever you decide for your next harvested spring bear, here’s a skinning technique that’ll work for both. However, it does require meticulous precision that will allow your taxidermist to properly mount your trophy.
This taxidermist gives several tips and tricks on how to best preserve your bear without damaging it. If you do it yourself, communicate excessively with your taxidermist so he or she has a vision before beginning the mounting process.
It’s long and tedious, and it might be worth paying to have someone else to do it right the first time. However, if you’re daring, have a lot of time on your hands and want to save some money, this tutorial is for you.
Once you get it down pat, though, the whole process should only take 15-20 minutes.
