Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Waiting for the Sunrise, Yosemite Valley” by Franka M. Gabler. Location: California.
“Although I frequently photograph in Yosemite Valley, I haven’t photographed from the Sentinel Bridge—an iconic spot—for over a decade,” says Gabler. “I arrived at Yosemite Valley early in the morning, before sunrise, to photograph fresh snow that had fallen overnight. There was only one other person at the bridge, so I decided to join. I only took two exposures, just before the sun appeared behind Half Dome, and moved on. For this photograph, I used a 6-stop neutral-density filter to allow for a long exposure, coupled with graduated ND filter to darken the sky and balance the light.”
