Tooltip TextCooper’s Rock State Forest. Birds singing high in the tree tops don’t always give us many options. With an overcast day and bright sky behind the bird, a silhouette was a good option. Canon 7D Mark II, 400mm f/5.6. Exposure: 1/800, f/8, ISO 500.

Biography
I am an avid amateur and want to take it to the next level. I love photojournalism and using my photographs to make a difference. Wildlife and landscape photography is close to my heart and I think it has the power to change public opinion.

Thankfully, there was a shaft of light coming through the trees and this little brown bird decided to give me a good shot. Canon 7D Mark II, 400mm f/5.6. Exposure: 1/1250, f/5.6, ISO 1600.Tobago. I did not have my tripod with me on this hike so at a shutter speed of 1.8 seconds I had to wedge myself between a rock to steady myself. I did this because I wanted the silky water.
