Congratulations to Gene Putney for winning the recent Photographic Motivation Assignment with the image Grizzly Bear Cub.
“In mid-May 2017, there was an overnight snowstorm that blanketed Yellowstone National Park with snow,” explains Putney. “I started out just before sunrise, and it was very cold and overcast as I headed to the Lamar Valley area. It didn’t take long to come across a grizzly sow and cub foraging for food. At first, the cub stayed close to its mother but got adventurous and moved further away to search for its own food.”
