LINCOLN, Neb. – Adults, youth and bird lovers of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to attend Project Feeder Watch on Feb. 3 in Plainview. This hands-on learning experience starts at 10 a.m. at Plainview Public Library, 209 N. Pine St.
Project Feeder Watch is a citizen science project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Citizen science is a way for the public to contribute to the scientific understanding of the natural world.
Participants of this free workshop, which is sponsored by the Northern Prairies Land Trust, will learn how to identify and count backyard feeder birds under the Project Feeder Watch protocol. The data collected will help to understand changes in bird populations. A presentation will kick off the workshop, followed by data collection and snacks.
No registration is required. For more information, contact Jamie Bachmann at Jamie.bachmann@nebraska.gov or 402-370-3374.
