Going to call attention to another blog/article in my blog today.  Yes, some of you will have already seen this in NEBRASKAland magazine or on the internet, but again this deserves to be seen by as many folks as possible, so I hope to call even more attention to it.

The current issue of NEBRASKAland has a story entitled “Ice Fishing:  Search for the Heyday”.  Mostly, it is a story about one of the best ice anglers I know, and he is as Nebraskan as can be, Don Cox from Mullen.  The story is about Don’s experience as an ice angler and his search for the trophy panfish Nebraska’s sandhill lakes can produce.  It is a very good article about an angler who is very worthy of the attention, and in the process it mentions some things about the fisheries in our sandhill lakes, where we have been and where we are going!

You need to read it!  You can find it in the on-line version of NEBRASKAland, page 28.  If you do that, be sure to check out the story on photographing snow flakes as well, the images are spectacular.  Or, if you wish, check out the on-line story, Ice Fishing:  Search for the Heyday.  The story and photos are by Jeff Kurrus, well done, Jeff!  Thank you!

I have been blessed to spend more than one day on the ice with Don and Dave, his brother-in-law mentioned in the story, and of course with Don’s boys, searching for the “heyday”.  Cannot wait to do it again!
