Any true hunter knows it doesn’t get any better than this right here.
Most hunters have a similar story. At some point, their fathers decided it was time to take them hunting for the first time. Certainly there are exceptions, as sometimes it’s the mother who has the hunting background, or just a friend who extends an invite.
But, more often than not, it’s an experience shared between a father and a son.
As we get older, it seemingly gets easier to identify the roles different people play in our lives, whether it’s a parent, a spouse, a sibling or just our friends.
It isn’t always easy to put those relationships into words, but hunting has unmistakable power of encapsulating the bond between a father and his son.
In this video, we see a father, a son and a friend tackle a lifelong dream of harvesting a big-game animal.
We’ve all had that conversation with our dads at some point.
“One day we’re going on a big-time hunt out west.”
Alaska most frequently finds itself at the helm of these conversations, though the Rocky Mountains and various parts of Canada are also highly coveted hunting destinations.
The cost of parenting is steep, rarely allowing a father to pay for this kind of trip. So, if the opportunity presents itself for us as sons to return the favor later in life, it doesn’t get a second thought.
A moose hunt in Alaska is about as good an opportunity as you’ll find, too! And, not only did his father smoke an absolute beast of a moose, but his friend harvested a massive black bear, as well!
Talk about a dream come true!
