running shot

The running shot is frowned on by half of hunters, and taken every time by the other half. This will start an argument for sure.

First of all, this is one of the best shots on a nice buck that you will ever see.

The question remains: Should this type of shot ever be taken? Well, first watch the video, then put on your arguing shoes and get ready for a tussle with your fellow deer hunters.

Here’s the video:

There is a big difference between shooting at deer that are moving, and deer that are running hard. After all, a back-of-the-neck shot is not what we consider prime shot placement.

The one thing that this hunter had going for him was the fact that it turned into an utterly straightaway shot, which meant almost no lead; and a spine shot at that.

You couldn’t miss the hunter make a noise; but why? To stop the deer obviously, which is what we all want. Again, why? Because it’s the best choice to take the most accurate and deadly shot!

This is all about choice. I personally would never try this shot because it is a part and parcel to why deer run away crippled never to be seen again.

Make no mistake: this is both one of the best shots that you have ever seen, and one of the luckiest.
